Peter Som Spring 2015

The problem with Peter Som is usually that the designs are always a couple of seasons behind. Whilst other shows are presenting something new and fresh in the Spring 2015 collections, Peter Som will continually play it safe to get an easy wear and deliver a collection that probably would have been still seen as old an boring 5 years ago. I did hope that this collection would maybe give us something different…I remember his Spring 2012 collection actually did and had some beautiful and modern designs going down the catwalk. This season we saw a striped pallette with moody olive and light blue, with burnt sienna. This would have probably stood out and looked unique among the current mood thus far this fashion week, which has been all about pastels and bohemian silhouettes.  Unfortunately this was the color scheme of last season so we keep getting duller.

A few redeeming pieces were the PVC raincoats (that burberry did 300% better 3 seasons ago)  and the gold Lamé strapless dress. 3/10

Who I see Wearing This Collection:

Most Likely: Julie Bowen - Som aren’t often worn on the red carpet due to not really being relevant, However Julie Bowen is a big fan and did wear a Fall 2014 creation to the Emmys. 

Likely: Rosario Dawson and Amy Poehler, both flock towards his safe designs (unfortunately) I can see both of them going for this collection, perhaps even Rosario in the gold number

Unlikely: Anyone Famous.
