The Zimmermann show was like a breath of fresh air. It was a versatile collection, which shone through the tasteful styling. From flowing, layered midi-skirts to adorable bathing suits; now that summer has come to an end, I already want to fast forward to May 2015. Or I could just make my way over to Australia and keep this whole ridiculously warm weather thing going a bit longer.
The Australian brand cited psychedelic tabot cards and free-flowing sprites for its Spring/Summer 2015 collection named “Tell Me Seer.” The collection was complete with jumpsuits and blazers - all with a supernatural twist. Zimmermann used materials such as shiny lurex, pastel lace and sharkskin in shades of glacier, midnight, sunstone and aquamarine. Celestial splices made from different layers of clothes were one of the smaller, yet enchanting details. Each look was finished off with a pair of sandals embedded with a giant metallic moon. If one brand can make my bohemian fairytale come true, it’s Zimmermann.
I love Aussie designers because they have such a fresh and creative approach to fashion design. It was nice to see a charismatic Australian label show in a city dubbed as the capital of streetwear, luxe sport and business-attire. My favorite part about the show was the asymmetrical cuts, ruffles galore and overall creative styling. The idea of a baggy blouse hanging off the shoulder due to misaligned buttons has given me some last-minute NYFW outfit inspiration.
